Why are people saying Metallica's Death Magnetic album isn't good?

I don't understand why some reviewers are saying this album isn't good. One said "the vocals are toilet-grade and all-in-all everything sounds clunky". Do these people have ears? I don't understand it, I think its a fantastic album, just trailing the black album and master of puppets
