What were these punk kids in my building up to last night and do I have the right to complain?

First of all the loud party and marijuana stench was not the issue, since this happens quite frequently, however, at around 3:30am, they were pounding on people's doors (including mine). I didn't open and neither did anyone else but why were they doing this? I looked through the keyhole and it didnt look like they needed something urgent but I just don't get why they needed to do that and what they were up to. The other issue is that this morning as I was loading things into my car on my way to the office, one of them yelled out the window for me to "quiet down" cause apparently they were sleeping. What are my rights here.
