What's up with Consumer Reports?

I quit taking CR many years ago because I found too many biased reviews in it. They bad mouthed a Troy Built rear tine tiller when it was obvious from their pictures and write up that they were trying to operate it the same way as a front tine tiller and that just doesn't work. They do have some good reviews but some of their departments are obviously staffed by those who think foreign is good and US made isn't. I once bought an 84 Olds Cutl Ciera which CR labeled as the worst used car ever and advised everyone to stay away from them. It had 30,000 miles when I bought it and over 300,000 when I traded it off. The only thing I ever did, other than routine maintenance was replace the alternator. It was one of the best and most reliable cars I ever owned.
