Is eye melanoma really bad?

They think my mom has it. I dont know anything about it. My mom said she had to go to the eye doctor because they found something weird in her eye, then just a few minutes ago my dad was googling eye melanoma. How treatable is it? Is she going to suffer? Is there any way to get rid of it
