it was his best choice. he got two other offers, 1 from New York for either 1 yr/ 5 million, or 3 yr/10 million, and another from Boston which was very low. he didn't want to go to New York even though the money was good because he want to be in contention for playoffs/championship, and he didn't go to Boston because the money was too little and he wouldn't get enough playing time on a stacked roster. plus, he did mention that Phoenix is close to a deal with Steve Nash, and his decision was largely based on being able to play with Nash again. the money's also good for a man his age at 2 yrs/ 6.2 mil
